Medication Manager Job Description

The Medication Manager is responsible for managing all camper medication. This includes all collection of medication and data from parents at check-in; organization and filing of medication at camp; and distribution of medication during meals and during the camp day. When not dealing with camper medication, the medication manager will be asked to support other aspects of camp. This includes (but is not limited to) helping with the movement of campers, supporting activities, and general oversight of campers. English Adventure runs winter camps with upwards of 160 campers per session. Campers often come to camp with prescription and non-prescription medication, which we are often responsible for administering. Main Areas of Responsibility Collect and manage camper medication Administer camper medication as needed throughout camp Track and keep records of all medication administered Assist in other camp activities according to camp managers We are seeking hard-working, fun, and energetic English-speaking staff of any nationality. English Adventure is a 100% nonsmoking workplace.

Basic qualifications:
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Able to legally work in Japan.
  • Available for all training and camp dates. (Please see schedule below)
  • Native, or highly fluent, English speaker.
  • Native or fluent in spoken and written Japanese (JLPT N2-N1; being able to read kanji is a must)

Pluses, but not requirements:
  • Current CPR / First Aid certification
  • Previous experience working with kids in a camp environment
  • Previous ESL experience in Japan
  • Teaching or leadership experience in outdoor settings
  • Schedule

    Camp Training
    • December 21st-24th, 2019(departure on 20th evening)
    We'll depart Tokyo/Osaka/Nagoya on the evening of the 20th. We'll spend the 21st through 24th training and head back on the evening of 24th

    • Session 1: December 26th-29/30th, 2019
    • Session 2: January 3rd-6th, 2020

    Camp is hard work! We support the campers from morning until night, but you'll have other staff around you, and some good breaks to make sure that you stay energized and are having fun too.


    Salaries for medication managers start at 10,000 yen per day. English Adventure also covers transportation between the Tokyo metro area/Osaka/Nagoya and camp, food, lodging and insurance.
